Work Assignment Opportunities

The Commerce Science and Technology Fellowship (ComSci) Program is designed to give career federal employees the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of science and technology and international competitiveness.

Through the full-time program, ComSci Fellows are afforded the opportunity to work in another agency on projects of interest to them that will benefit them in their careers. These assignments have involved policy-making, legislative oversight, budgeting, and interagency problem-solving.

The ComSci Program offers an excellent opportunity for Fellows to participate in executive development assignments, which allow Fellows to grow as individuals and as managers, provide host agencies with top notch talent, and return to their home agencies highly motivated employees ready to take on new challenges. Participants of this program have gone on to positions of greater responsibility in the Federal Government, private industry, and academia.

The ComSci Program Director will work with each Fellow participating in the full-time program to help identify potential work assignment and agency placement. Fellows take an active role in identifying and seeking placement opportunities.
